Taburno Camposauro park
The massif Taburno-Camposauro is part of Campania’s Apennine, situuated west of Benevento. The massif, of calcareous origin, culminates with the Taburno mount at 1394m and the Camposauro mount at 1388m. The woods, the rock’s nature, the quality of the soil, have always influenced the settlement of the local population and their economic activities. From the peaks there is a beautiful view over the Valle Caudina and the Partenio massif, and in lucid days one can also see the Vesuvius and the Lattari mountains, and sometimes also the islands of Naples’s bay. The many paths in the park make it possible to visit both the mountain areas, as well as the park’s areas of interest, sites of historical and cultural importance, also known for their mountain areas, as well as the park’s areas of interest, sites of historical and cultural importance, also known for their wine-and-food traditions: from sant’Agata dei Goti to Solopaca, from Torrecuso to Montesarchio a journey in Sannio’s heart.
